The truth behind facebook's, instagram's, and whatsapp's servers issues!

Hey everyone!

So today (3 July) instagram, facebook, and whatsapp stopped working. Sending and downloading files wasn't possible, even voice notes on whatsapp were not functioning.

But, a huge company like facebook that owns instagram and whatsapp, the three most used apps around the world with 3 billion daily active users combined. They can't just stop working and servers to go on a malfunction. I'm pretty sure that one of the biggest companies in the world have the most advanced servers with workers 24/7 checking on them. So i don't think that today's or yesterday's issues on these 3 social media website were really an accident.

As i said the servers they use are the most powerful servers ever and the cost of running those servers will be of course, the greatest! Thus, facebook shutdown those servers on purpose since a 4 hours servers shutdown can save facebook millions of dollars.

Think of it, for example, facebook earns 1 billion dollars everyday from instagram, facebook and whatsapp. The cost of running the servers for these 3 apps is 500 million per day. Now what if facebook shutdowns the servers for half a day(12 hours) but their earnings isn't affected through the 12 hours; facebook would have saved 250 million dollars by just turning servers off for 12 hours. These numbers are just examples.

If you're wondering how earnings are not affected even if servers are off is that users would still use facebook but can't load pictures and videos. Plus, facebook ads are still running so everything is normal. The only affected stuff are facebook stocks.
